Shelter Advocates provide advocacy, crisis intervention, emotional support, information, and referrals for survivors both in the shelter and in the community. They help maintain a safe and supportive residential environment, attend to the needs of clients, and perform additional duties that contribute to the overall operation of Safe Haven’s Shelter Programs.
Pay: $21.16 per hour (additional $1.20/hr for hours worked between 11:00pm - 7:00am)
Advocate Positions:
Casual
Days (7:00am – 3:00pm)
Evenings (3:00pm – 10:30pm)
Overnights (10:00pm – 7:30pm)

This position will address the symptoms of domestic violence trauma through mentorship, enhanced support one-on-one and in groups, and opportunities for building confidence and a sense of self-worth. This position provides programming at both sites and in the community, with a shelter focus.
