We’re wherever survivors need us.

Safe Haven has two locations. The Shelter offers temporary refuge to anyone experiencing domestic violence as well as survivors’ children and pets.

The primary purpose of the shelter facility is to provide shelter, food, and safety in a supportive environment to individuals and families who have been abused.

While staying at the shelter, the options available are reviewed and each survivor is supported in making their own decisions, whatever they may be.  Additionally, advocates and staff can assist with encounters with the legal, medical, social services, or other local agencies they may utilize. The shelter can house up to 39 adults and children at a time. Crisis calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The majority of the people come to the shelter identify as women, and most have children who they bring with them. Shelter staff provide both individual and systems advocacy for children, as well as parenting assistance for the parents. Staff provide advocacy services to assist children in obtaining counseling services and protection. Additionally, staff assist parents in enrolling their children in school while staying at the shelter and arranging transportation.
